I get often the same error when burning wave-files to CD:s usung Nero and Lite-ON DVD/CDRW and Windows XP. I suspect the wave files contain some scap because the error does not occurr when I burn wave files produced with a microphone and Sound Forge or files converted from my LP's (Sound Forge) or when I occationly copy some tracks from my CD's (mostly recorded during the period 1975 - 2000)

Nero: Version: 6.6.0.17
Internal Version: 6, 6, 0, 17c
(Nero Express)
LITE-ON DVDRW SHW-16H5S> Version: LS0W - HA 1 TA 1 - 6.6.0.17

I found 2 different cures:
a) Convert the wave-files to mp3 using a large bir Rate
or Variable Bit Rate and minumum Bit Rate 160
kbps. I usually do not transfer Tag-data, but sometimes I encode the used track name (I am using the lame-encoder but also AudioCatalyst 2.0 has been used).
I then use these mp3 files as input to Nero when burning the Audio CD
b) Alternatively I move the wave files to an older PC (manufactured 2000, memory only 256 MB) with win 2000, BJT DVD/RW and Nero 6.3
Neroversion: 6.3.1.17 (Nero Express)
DVD/CDRW: BJT DVDRW IDE 16X Version: A190 - HA 0 TA 1 - 6.3.1.17

I still have a PC produced 1999 with Win 98 and HP 8001 CD and the HP software. I have not experienced this type of errors witth that equipmet, but I have not bben useing it during the this year.
