Re: Psycle is wicked!
: The program is open source, so you can expect it to surpass Buzz on every level. Though, it may be a bit slow at first, this program will eventually make it's way to competing with top commercial software.
I don't like to be the naysayer here, but the reason I don't like Psycle is it's design flaws (IMO), not extra features.
Patterns are too much like the old trackers, which is good of you used trackers a lot, otherwise, it is more convienient to have all the parameters available to you in the pattern. It would have to have a piano roll in it as well. It would have to have multiple machine outputs.
Basically, Buzz has a simpler interface, which I like. And right now, there aren't near enough machines in Psycle. You'd expect that Psycle, being the newer software would have lots of machines by now (at least enough to have a little bit of everything), but I don't see it yet. Buzz is still laying out the 1-2 machines per week quota that it has been.
Eventually I might begin to use Psycle, but only after these changes have been put into place. As it stands, not only is it not surpassing Buzz, it is below it (IM0).
