Yes there are several hardware components. The two most popular brands are, 1) Creative Sound Blaster Live w/Live Drive[a front bay input devive with 1/4", spdif and midi i/o ports]. The SB card is cool too. Another is 2) Midi-Man, who have too many devices to list. As for as the "amplifier", Sonic Foundry, Cubase, Pro -Tools and other software allow for the processing.
