It seems to be something to do with the way the file is encoded. Are these DIVX files you are trying to convert? If so, try re-installing the DIVX codec and trying again. If this fails, try re-coding the file using another codec, then convert this file to IPOD format. I downloaded VirtualDub and converted the .AVI file to XVID, then used Jodix to convert the XVID file to IPOD format and it seems to have solved the problem. You'll have to install the XVID codec for this work though. All the above are freeware, but the process takes a while, so there might be a better way
