Melodyne plugin offers Melodyne's unique functions for the editing of pitch and timing for the first time as a plug-in directly integrated into VST-, AU- and RTAS-hosts under Windows XP and Mac OS X.

The main application area of Melodyne plugin is the intuitive correction of the pitch and timing of notes in vocal recordings – a demanding task that Melodyne software handles excellently and in a highly musical fashion for which it has been acclaimed the world over. With Melodyne plugin you can also, however, edit and optimize single-voice instrument recordings as well as drum and percussion tracks in an extraordinarily flexible manner. The algorithm for single-voice material with which Melodyne users are already familiar as well as a new algorithm for percussive material ensure results unimpeachable in terms of naturalness and sound quality.

Once the passage you wish to work on has been transferred from the host track, Melodyne plugin offers you intelligent context-sensitive tools for editing manually the pitch, vibrato, drift, timing, volume and formants of individual notes as well as the swift editing of any selection of notes with macros for the automatic correction of intonation and timing. A multi-level Undo function provides for carefree editing, and a selectable scale grid for harmonically correct transposition. For Pitch, Formants and Volume, rotary controls are provided that permit the real-time manipulation of these parameters and can be automated from the host.
