ION Audio releases VCR 2 PC video conversion system

ION Audio has announced that it is now shipping the video conversion system, VCR 2 PC. VCR 2 PC enables users to turn their home movies into convenient, portable video files for easy access and convenient portability on computers, iPods, DVD players, PSPs and select mobile phones.

Many homes contain a collection of old VHS tapes left over from the VCR era, and many of those collections contain recordings of important events, such as baby movies, birthdays, weddings and graduations. VCR 2 PC is the easiest way for anyone to rediscover his or her memories.

VCR 2 PC is a VHS tape player, featuring a simple USB connection to PC. Because it uses standard USB, the only computer connection needed to send both audio and video into the user’s computer is the single, included USB cable. No drivers are needed for connection of VCR 2 PC to any PC running Windows XP or later operating systems.

VCR 2 PC comes complete with ION’s proprietary EZ VHS Converter software, designed specifically to make it easy for users to enjoy their videos on DVD, iPod, PSP or computer. Select mobile phones can even play videos exported from VCR 2 PC.

VCR 2 PC can also save the videos from other types of camcorders, such as VHS-C or 8mm. Connection of the camera to the front panel jacks on VCR 2 PC is convenient and simple.

Not only does VCR 2 PC digitize videos, but it also works as a standard VHS player with auto-tracking, so users can continue to enjoy their VHS tapes. Standard VCR controls including play, rewind and variable speed slow motion are all available on soft touch, backlit buttons.

A PAL version of VCR 2 PC with SCART output is also available so no matter where VHS tapes came from, ION Audio can help reconnect users and their videos.
