Hi Greg, I agree that the price to participate is discouraging. In nearly all other cases, news items for those types of events are not run. I made the exception with USA Songwriting Competition because they provide a legitmate competition with quality sponsors and prizes. Whether one considers it worthwhile is up to them.

I heard the winning song - it sounded great boy - good lyrics and melody. Boy, I'm jealous - I wished I wrote a song like that and I will write a better song to win. I wrote a similar song years ago but the lyrics and melody wasn't up to par. However, this gives me inspiration and I think I can wrote better and enter to win.

I have the song that will blow America away when the next American Idol sings it... When are the entries being accepted?

If a truely talented individual is recognized, it shouldn't be because he submitted $30.00 to have his music heard by someone who is getting rich off the procedes. I can't wait till someone has enough sense to realize that a "FREE" contest would generate alot more talent, and would shift the focus to talent, not "how much money have these people made me today."

Such a shame...another "pay" to participate....money,money,thats what it's all about. As if they are already not sucking the money out of struggling musicians....
