Berkleemusic announces two new guitar-based certificate programs

Berkleemusic has announced the release of two new guitar-based certificate programs enrolling now for their April 9th term.

The 5-course Guitar Styles Professional certificate program provides guitarists with the foundational knowledge in Jazz, Rock, Blues, and Rhythm and Groove styles, as well as instruction on selecting, combining, and arranging guitars, effects, and the amps used by the pros. You’ll study the styles of some of the most influential guitarists in these genres, including Grant Green, B.B. King, Wes Montgomery, Jimmy Page, Duane Allman, David Gilmour, Eric Clapton, John Scofield, T-Bone Walker, Jimi Hendrix, Lightning Hopkins, and Magic Sam. By the end of the program, you’ll have a wealth of foundational knowledge in the most popular guitar styles, as well as the ability to create your own distinct guitar tone characteristics.

The Guitar Master Certificate Program is Berkleemusic’s most extensive guitar-focused program. With 8 courses presented over two years, you’ll fully immerse yourself in the structural fundamentals of chords and scales, and learn the major elements of three popular guitar styles: Blues, Rock, and Jazz. Once you have this wide breadth of guitar knowledge under your fingers, you’ll personalize your guitar studies with 3 individual elective courses of your choosing, including Rhythm and Groove Guitar, Recording and Producing for Guitarists, Getting Your Guitar Tone, Basic Improvisation, and Basic Ear Training.

Both certificate programs are open for enrollment now, and begin on April 9th.
