Hal Leonard Books rolles out a new line of multimedia books and DVDs
Hal Leonard Books has recently rolled-out a new line of multimedia books and DVD's expressly designed for professional and hobbyist recording enthusiasts and music makers at all levels of experience. The new series, MusicPro Guides, delivers the same high level of quality and technical know-how that readers expect from Hal Leonard, consistently providing in-depth instruction and technical savvy in easy-to-understand, user-friendly terms.
MusicPro Guides already offers a wealth of titles covering a wide scope of topics: from songwriting, technical production and sound engineering, live performance, and in-depth software guides and tutorials to music business books for professional and aspiring producers, musicians, and engineers. Nearly every title comes packaged with multimedia resources and often include an additional online component to amplify the material and provide additional resources to maximize the learning experience. The MusicPro Guides line of software tutorial DVD's, already over 20 titles strong, offer current, authoritative instruction on the latest versions of music making software.
The series launches with an impressive stable of bestselling authors including Bill Gibson, Emile Menache and Bobby Owsinski, along with audio production experts Dave Hampton, Dave Martin, plus music business expects Steve Gordon, John Stiernberg and Brooke Wentz.
Recent releases include Dave Hampton's The Business of Audio Engineering — the only book available that guides today's new recording engineer through the potentially hazardous business world that surrounds their work.

Bill Gibson's six-volume Hal Leonard Recording Method — the first series of its kind — takes readers through the entire signal path from input stages all the way through mixing, mastering, and sending the recording to final replication. Each nearly 300 page, full color book in this method includes a 20 question exam at the end of each chapter to help the reader insure they've learned what was taught, and the method's content is aurally and visually complimented with DVDs that include video and audio material to support each topic.
Later this year the company is slated to roll out Bobby Owsinski and Dennis Moody's Drum Recording Handbook; two more titles in the highly acclaimed Power Tools series of software tips and techniques (covering Pro Tools 7.4 and Logic 8); as well as the first title in the new Mixing the Hits series; fully revised second editions of both John Stiernberg's essential guide Succeeding In Music and The Future of the Music Business, by Steve Gordon.
