Jam sessions over the internet with Tjoon
Tjoon makes it possible for musicians to create split screen videos online with their webcam. That's 4 videos playing synchronized at once. Online jamming or actually creating video clips has been made possible.
For example at the website is a guy who is a one man band with his three alter ego's or two brothers calling themselves: "the Lake Brothers" playing funky tunes. One track a trumpet, the other a saxophone, and the bass recorded by a Frenchman. But not only musicians can use the site, also the 4 friends in Australia who wants to sing 'happy birthday' to their friend in the Netherlands. The possibillities of Tjoon are endless: some use it as an online stage where they can jam together, others use it as a place to create fun videos.

The site works like this: someone records one track with his or her webcam. After that the user let his friends know there are 3 spots free. These friends or members in turn, record the other 3 tracks. One can choose to open or close a Tjoon. If a Tjoon is "open", everyone can add their attributions to it. If it is closed, the owner decides which tracks are added. At the site is already a scene of musicians jamming with eachother. Because of the community elements it is a good place to hang out for musicians.
Tjoon is an initiative of the workers of Suite75, they created the site in their spare time. Some of the workers are musicians themselves, that's where the idea started. One of the workers: "I always wanted to jam online with my friends. Because there was no site where you can actually do this, we decided to create this online stage ourselves!".
With the new application another level of online collaborative music making can be reached. Making music is more fun when doing it with others and especially showing it to others, that's what Tjoon does.
