TC Electronic announces Tap Factory

TC Electronic announces Tap Factory, a hybrid delay/reverb plug-in that uniquely combines multi-tap delay effects with early reflection reverb effects. Tap Factory includes a bonus LE version that enables the user to run multiple instances per DSP on current PowerCore systems, and supports discontinued PowerCore hardware. Tap Factory will ship end of March 2008 at a suggested retail price of €299.

Tap Factory is designed primarily for the user who is looking for delay effects beyond the usual vintage style which will help him create a unique sound that is all his own. The combination of delay effects and reverb effects generates an unusual set of parameters such as the 3-band parametric EQ with a diffuser capable of simulating the change in sound that occurs when a tap hits a metal or wooden wall. The new parameters inspire creativity, and offer a top-notch sound quality based on TC's legendary delay and reverb algorithms. The intuitive user interface keeps the user on track when experimenting with the 24 taps and the more than 150 adjustable parameters, which are grouped into tabs in the central display section to provide a valuable overview even when digging deep into details. Furthermore a large selection of easily adjustable factory presets are provided to get users started right away.

Tap Factory offers nine seconds of delay time, three ways of working with tap tempo, and features a tap pad which can be used either for tapping the tempo or for tapping a specific rhythm into the plug-in. It is very easy to experiment with the many tweaking possibilities by using the crosshair and freehand drawing tools to manipulate different parameters, by randomizing settings to produce everything from subtle to extreme changes, or even using the panic button that quickly mutes the feedback that might occur from adventurous experimenting. Tap Factory is the latest addition to the PowerCore platform consisting of a superior range of high-end plug-ins that run on tailor-made hardware. The platform integrates with virtually any VST, AU and RTAS based digital audio workstation for Mac or PC. The range of plug-ins available for the PowerCore platform covers any need that might arise in a recording or mastering situation, and in a quality not found in other VST, AU and RTAS compatible plug-ins. From basic tools like reverbs, EQs, compressor/expanders, chorus/delays, over plug-ins that are dedicated to the voice, sporting pitch correction and Voice Modeling™, to some of the very best tools on the market, like UnWrap and other "System 6000 for PowerCore" plug-ins.
