MakeMusic releases new Finale Allegro
MakeMusic, Inc. has announced the release of Finale Allegro 2007. From the makers of Finale, the world's leading music notation software, this latest version of Allegro includes a host of new features plus native support for both Intel- and PowerPC-based Macintosh as well as Windows computers. Allegro is the easy, fast and powerful solution for educators, performing musicians, composers, arrangers, worship directors and students.

Allegro users can enter notes with the mouse, computer keyboard and/or a MIDI keyboard as well as by playing a brass or woodwind instrument using the exclusive MicNotator feature. Additionally, Allegro offers the same high-quality music scanning capabilities as Finale 2007 and can import and export MIDI and MusicXML files. Orchestrations can be created with up to 32 staves, and these staves can be transposed to any key and for any instrument. Allegro offers an unlimited numbers of lyric verses, automatic guitar chords and the ability to customize items like percussion notation and string instrument tablature.
Allegro aids the compositional process with Band-in-a-Box Auto-Harmonizing - which can turn any melody into two- or three-part harmony, and automatic Drum Grooves - which can instantly add drums to any song or score. Playback sounds great thanks to Human Playback, automated swing playback and an integrated software synthesizer featuring more than 128 sounds plus dozens of high-quality marching percussion sounds from Row-Loff.
Allegro's Exercise Wizard helps educators save time by instantly creating warm-ups for the whole band, orchestra or choir. Thanks to compatibility with Finale NotePad freeware, Allegro users can share their music with anyone on the Internet and create .MP3 files to burn CDs of their music.
And of course, Allegro prints out scores and parts with the same precision as Finale.
"The music software field can generally be divided into two halves: entry-level software and professional offerings such as Finale," states Mary Schneider, MakeMusic's chief marketing officer. "Allegro holds a unique place in the middle of the field, offering much of the power and control of Finale with a $199 list price and the ease-of-use of entry-level software. For many educators and music professionals on a budget Allegro is the answer."
