SignalScope and SignalSuite now available for your iPhone

Faber Acoustical has announced the availability of mobile versions of SignalScope and SignalSuite for iPhone OS. SignalScope turns the iPhone into a powerful real-time spectrum analyzer and oscilloscope, utilizing the iPhone's audio input or internal accelerometer. SignalSuite adds precision signal generator capabilities to the iPhone or iPod touch.

SignalScope includes a rich set of options for analyzing audio and acceleration signals, including highly-interactive, multi-touch data plots. According to Ben Faber, owner and president of Faber Acoustical, "Zooming and panning analyzer displays with the iPhone's multi-touch interface is simply amazing. It's as if you can touch the signals." Spectrum or time waveform values can also be inspected by way of a special cursor and the displays can be captured to the user's photo library as high resolution images.

SignalSuite provides the same set of signal generators that are available in the Mac version. Various periodic waveforms, white or pink noise, and frequency sweeps can be produced from the iphone's built-in speaker, or sent to the headphone output of the iPhone or iPod touch. The numerous signal configuration options are automatically remembered between launches of the application.

The mobile version of SignalScope requires an iPhone or iPhone 3G running version 2.0 of the iPhone OS. SignalScope is available exclusively in the iTunes App Store for $24.99. SignalSuite requires an iPhone, iPhone 3G, or iPod touch running version 2.0 of the iPhone OS. SignalSuite can be purchased from the App Store for $9.99.
