This is exemplified by the announcement of TC Electronic to have the new AAX plug-in format supported right from the start. Pro Tools 10 owners can easily integrate the LM6 Radar into their rig as soon as the new plug-in is available in December.

The LM6 Radar Loudness Meter is designed to be a full featured solution to many of the fundamental loudness control issues faced by music producers the world over. Instead of just measuring peak levels, LM6 combine frequency weighting with an energy-integrated measure of sound, or equivalent continuous sound level, abbreviated Leq. It will give you a read out on Leq(K) which you can easily match and balance giving you a better visual representation of loudness and giving you the control and awareness you need to make quick and necessary adjustments.

Signs of Loudness problems include obvious sound level jumps in TV, distorted sound in Music and other sound level incompatibilities. LM6 will provide for you a standardized and intuitive method of controlling loudness. It is LMCompliant with e.g. ITU-R BS.1770-2, EBU R128 and ATSC A/85. This will allow for precise balancing and tight specification of any type of audio signal, whether mono, stereo and 5.1 surround.

The LM6 Radar Loudness Meter is set for a December 2011 release and will be available in VST, AU, RTAS and AAX Native versions.
