ZX1-Sub Passive Subwoofer

The outside of this new subwoofer is a robust, 15-mm-thick internally braced wooden enclosure. It has two side handles for easy handling and is protected by a structured coating and a sturdy steel grille. With its compact shape, measuring at 40 x 44 x 46 cm, and its weight which is just under 20 kilos, the ZX1-Sub is a viable portable subwoofer for mobile applications. While being carried around, it is designed to protect the goods inside with its rugged durability and provide reliable performance for day-to-day use.

On the inside, this new speaker has a 12" EVS-12S woofer which allows it to handle lows easily with its 42 Hz to 200 Hz (-10 dB) frequency range operation. It also comes with a frequency response of 53 Hz - 125 Hz (-3dB) which lets you hear all the bass nuances and details. These specifications are more than enough for a number of portable sound system applications.

A nifty feature of the ZX1-Sub is its two recessed NL4-type connectors, which are wired in parallel. This permits the input signal to be looped through and makes it possible to operate full-range loudspeakers such as the ZX1 together with the ZX1-Sub using a single amplifier channel.

For easy integration into common sound system setups, the ZX1-Sub is designed to have the typical nominal impedance of 8 ohms, and has a maximum sound pressure level of 127 db.

Markus Schmittinger, Product Marketing Manager ProSound EMEA, had this to say: “It has never been easier to give a solid foundation to a compact PA. The ZX1-Sub was conceived primarily for configurations involving EVID, ZX1 and EVU systems, but it will also optimize system performance when paired with loudspeakers from other manufacturers.”
