Cantabile Lite is a lightweight version of the full retail version of Cantabile. It has no nagscreens, is not crippled in anyway and is completely free.

Cantabile is a simple, easy-to-use VST host, MIDI recorder/sequencer and audio recorder. Designed primarily for real-time playing of virtual instruments and effects, Cantabile includes an optimized audio engine to minimize system load and reduce audio drop outs.

<li> Enhancement to main input/output level meters to show levels for up to 8 channels.

<li> Enhancement to automatically resize plug-in panel when switching between racks.
<li> Made program selector in plug-in editor slightly wider to accommodate longer program names.
<li> Two new MIDI assignable controls for plug-in slots - Wet-Dry Balance/Plug-in Mix and Gain. These map to same controls as the first and second slider when "Use Wet/Dry Controls" is not selected. i.e.: Wet-Dry Balance/Plug-in Mix controls wet/dry balance of effects or the gain of Instruments. Gain controls overall gain of the plug-in slot.
<li> New toolbar buttons for Windows Volume Control and Windows Recording Mixer.
<li> MIDI Controller Assignments dialog now has "Learn" disable automatic selecting of items in the list when associated control is moved.
<li> Moved metronome sound on/off check box next to volume slider.
<li> New commands in program organizer. to copy selected programs from shared to loaded bank or vice versa.
<li> Double clicking on program name in program organizer. now copies the program to other bank.
<li> Change to program organizer. to not show programs past the end of the plug-in's available program slots.
<li> Fix for MIDI recorder not connected to input or output by default.
<li> Fix to reset metronome play state when creating a new session.
<li> Fix for "Set Default State" command causing "NewSession" to appear in recently used session list.
<li> Fix for Cantabile Lite not showing all plug-ins in plug-in selector.
<li> Fix to automatically release held notes when disabling MIDI pass through on a plug-in
<li> Fix for tap tempo not working in some cases.
