Sitting in the kitchen, watching my (soon to be ex-)wife as she sits reading. I don't realize what I'm writing. Just runs right out of me. In the end, it takes about half an hour to write and years to record. I'm happier about this newer version for many reasons. The mix is better, I re-worked the introduction and closing, the vocals and vocal harmonies, I played all the lead guitar parts myself instead of leaving them to Harvey.
