I hate to say it, but all this software support for DirectX is a little annoying since there seem to be far more free online VST modules than DirectX modules. Choosing to support DX and not VST is a kindof a backhanded compliment to me. Still, allowing any plug-in use is a step in the right direction. And I really like the arranging ability.
Overall, I generally approve this kind of software package. I don't really get into video, and I'm a little wary of finding too many video features in a supposed-sound program, but Sound Forge generally makes the ranks as a worthwhile editor. Considering the limited audio resolution of the nice-working SoundForge XP, I welcome any improvements.
All these file formats are overkill to me, but at least they are trying.
