Im not sure if this will answer your Roy but I think that the newer updated version you have to pay for. But if you have the older version for free i think it is illegal. I deleted mine from my computer. Some think that if you dont play your music while online or download anymore then you wont get into trouble but as long as you registered to download it you can be caught. I hope that helps you out!
