Raytracing is a technique used in the generation of computer generated imagery (CGI) to create reflective surfaces by tracing the beams of light that are bouncing off the objects in a scene. Inverse raytracing as used in audio processing is the process of estimating the shape, material and topology of a room by examining its impulse response. Simply put: inverse raytracing looks at a sampled room impulse response and adapts a general room model to reproduce your particular sonic space.
