The five CD-Rs feature classic, full-color artwork from Green Day albums " Dookie," "Nimrod," "Warning" and the critically, acclaimed new album "American Idiot," as well as a rare photo of the band. A coordinated color slimline case is included with each CD-R. The Green Day CD-R 5 Pack is currently available online at greendaymusic.com (http://www.greendaymusic.com/ gd_store_cdrs.html) for $7.99 plus free shipping and will begin shipping today, the same day Green Day's epic album " American Idiot" arrives in stores. Starting September 28, Apple's iTunes Music Store, which offers Green Day's entire catalog digitally, will sell the CD -Rs through Green Day's artist page in iTunes, allowing fans to legally download "American Idiot" or any of their albums, then burn it to the CD-Rs. Reprise Records is also making the CD-R Pack available at retail. The special package will first be available at J&R Music World in New York, in time for the band's only in-store performance on September 22nd. The band will be taking over NYC's Park Place to perform a free concert at 5:30pm in downtown Manhattan, courtesy of J&R Music and Computer World. Reprise Records encourages fans to burn responsibly by downloading music legally to create Green Day compilations on the CD-Rs. Other media such as video, photo and documents can also be stored on the CD-Rs. Green Day will launch an extensive North American tour beginning in October in support of the release of "American Idiot," their first new album in over four years. The album includes "Jesus Of Suburbia," a mini-rock opera that features such new originals as "I Don't Care," "City of the Damned," "Dearly Beloved" and "Tales Of Another Broken Home." The title track is currently resting at #1 on the Modern Rock Chart, and the band has been prominently featured in Newsweek, Spin, Rolling Stone and Alternative Press.
