By Cilanntrus MP3 conversion can be easily achieved! Here's how to do it with the Shuffler Music Convertor. ...Continued MP3 to WAV - here's how! Shuffler Music Convertor Shuffler Music Convertor is more than just an mp3-wav convertor because it can create mp3s, wavs, and wma files (a newish format created by Microsoft -- its usefulness is debatable), as well as resample the files at the same time. Very handy. Here's a screen shot:
As you can see it is a simple layout. You choose which files you want to start with at the top of the window by checking any or all of the "Convert [From]" option. Now, when you select the folders you want to convert SMC will search for only the file formats that you originally chose. The files it finds are displayed in the right-hand pane which allows you to de-select any files that don't need converting. You can add as many files as you please using this method. Once you have completed all of your cueing, click the "Next" button (upper right) to define the conversion settings.
First, choose the format you want to convert the files to (we'll choose "Wave"). The default is a Standard Wave File (44,100Hz, 16bit Stereo) but you choose anything you like by clicking the "Change" button. You will most likely want to keep the files as high quality as you can so we won't fiddle with those settings. The final step is selecting the output folder and this is where this program really shines: you can select a single folder for all of the files or you can choose to have the files returned to the folder the originally came from. (I will note that this is one of the features, aside from great sound quality, that makes Audio Active Production Studio so powerful and this one is FREE!!!) The settings are complete, so convert away. There are other ways to convert mp3s to wavs, such as Sound Forge's Batch Convertor, and other programs natively support mp3s, like Samplitude, but when it comes down to the crunch, there is nothing finer than doing something for free. Be sure to keep an eye on your hard drive space now that you playing around with wave files because they take up quite a bit of precious hard drive space (10MegaBytes per stereo minute!). Other than that, GO CRAZY WITH CONVERSION LOVE AND HAPPINESS.
