Dre E-mailed Napster Inc. with names users that are alleged to have infringed on Dre's copyrights by downloading, exchanging or making his songs available. He also demanded that these Napster offenders be banned from the popular service. Dr. Dre's demands were met by Napster. "The artist Dr. Dre has requested that your access to Napster be terminated for alleged copyright infringement," read a statement from the company that appeared in place of the service itself. As with the Metallica ban, Napster users can challenge the action by appealing. Those who appeal will be reinstated within two weeks unless they are officially sued by Dr. Dre.
