Ernesto The $1,000,000 per month Payback for Playback program, which has been extended through July, is designed to compensate content owners on MP3.com based on the popularity of their music.

Encompassing digital artists from a variety of musical genres, including Electronic, Easy Listening, Latin, Jazz, World/Folk and Blues, the Top 10 Payback for Playback earners for the month of June generated combined earnings of over $120,000. Additionally, MP3.com recently announced that the Payback for Playback program will be extended to content owners who participate in the company's Retail Music Program, which brings digital artists' music to a variety of retail establishments.

The Top 10 Payback for Playback earners for the month of June are:

Subliner (Electronic), $16,234.82
Bassic (Electronic), $11,825.67
The Cynic Project (Electronic), $10,239.08

The Chris Geith Group (Jazz), $6,591.68
Tears for Beers (World/Folk), $6,412.17
Jack Falk Project (Blues), $6,157.83

All eligible artists who post music on MP3.com have the opportunity to participate in the Payback for Playback promotion, which has made available $1,000,000 per month in May, June and July to artists, based on the popularity of their music. Musicians interested in joining MP3.com's community of artists can register to post music on MP3.com at www.mp3.com/newartist.
