The original Judge who gave the order to remove all
of the RIAA major record companie's songs said that
the Sony defence didn't apply because Napster is about
distribution rather than making personal copies for a
'time displacement' effect.

However you are right the VCR has massively increased
the income of movie companies and the net will do the
same for music, the question now is who will make the
money - maybe not the same old monopolies?
