: Is it possible to burn mp3 files downloaded from the Internet on
: data cds or must I buy the more expensive audio cds to do the job.
: If I burn data cds with mp3 files on data cds, would I be able to play
: them on dvd players? I have a Sony CD-RW burner in my computer
: and I have a Sonie Blue Go Video Dvd player connected to my stereo.
: If it is possible, what sort of soft-ware could I use for the purpose?
: Would I be able to edit the mp3 files I create off my cassettes or must
: I edit them as wav files?
: I would appreciate some help in this matter.
You do not need to buy the more expensive "Audio CD's" Those are just a marketing ploy to give the recording industry royalties. It is just extra money in their pockets to keep them happy. Actually you should make it a point to not buy the audio CD's because they are using the extra money to prevent you from copying something you want to copy.
You should use any better name brand CD-R. CD-RW's don't read in many players.
Many newer DVD players will play data .mp3 files. You'll have to read the specifications of your model to know if yours will play .mp3 files directly. Even if it won't play .mp3 files. it should still play a CD-R audio disc. Again, every player is different. read the specifications on your mode. If it's an older model, you may be out of luck entirely.
If you are burning from audio cassette, you just need software which can record the Line-in from your sound card. MOTAR uses an older version of Musicmatch for that because it's easy. MOTAR is not sure if newer versions of musicmatch jukebox have the same free features. Record the file to .wav format for editing. Compress it to .mp3 only after you are happy with the edited file. Recompressing an .mp3 file over and over can make it sound like crap.
