A CD is a product like a can of soda, you can't just take a product off a shelf without buying. You can't make a copy of a soda can either [ at least not worth the time]!
Music can easily be copied, that is why copyrights are given... to protect the artists work. Are you a good musician? If you were, you would sing a different tune. Now, I agree that the "music industry" sucks, but the artists are being cheated. If the artist makes a record or song that many like, then yes, the artist deserves the credit. Even in the form of money. If he/she gets rich, it just means that a lot of people are willing to buy his/her work.
If you take away an insentive for a musician, then they may not try to further new albums. How is a working stiff supposed to further their career in music. If good musicians are the only ones that make it, then again, you propose that a musician should work in a factory while going on tour...Almost impossible!
What you are really against is capitalism. You prefer communism where you see fit. If your kind really wants to make a difference, then boycott their products and record/listen to your own music!
