: I have not had to buy a CDROM since I found http://www.shoutcast.com , almost any band or type of music I search for, there is a station up for it. Thank you for allowing anyone to operate a public server that you promote automatically in shoutcast's directories. Awesome idea making people able to from their home with their private MP3 collection with totally free software, we couldn't do that here in my country (maybe if the company didn't provide a way to capture the stream or it was unsaveable we could get away with it, but I'd still feel bad for bands like metallica or worry they'd sue me for the fun of it (I would).
: Winamp (made by shoutcast) allows you to save the stream to a harddrive or straight to a CD/DVD burner, therefore make a copy of it for my private use. So does Metallica allow me to make copies for my private use on the search http://www.shoutcast.com/directory/?s=metallica ? I estimate that about 2,500 (another station has a Metallica song aproximately every 40 seconds, all day long, all week, month, years, that's almost a million Metallica songs being given away for free every year by shoutcast to over thousands of people, cant be fare somewhere, wonder where) Metallica songs are played daily on shoutcast alone. Home much does ShoutCast have to pay Metallica (they are the distributors of metallica's music I get to hear for free). If the band Metallica allows me to freely download their songs VIA shoutcast's software, could you please send me some documentation from the band members to verify this as country laws are different, as I want to save all their songs with shoutcast's winamp software and the stream catcher plug-in I downloaded from shoutcast's site, many songs I can find in 128kbs quality which to me is as good (or better) as the actual tapes I had (lost due to moving and thefts, my favorite band, so I have lost many copies of both tapes and CDs!).
