sampling,&looping

i am so glad i found your site,i have alot to learn.
can someone tell me: what i need to sample parts of songs from L.P.s
& c.d.s & how to turn these sounds into .wav & then make loops,so i
can use these loops for recording music? i know im asking alot,but
can anyone out there help me get started? "i am a musician" help!
