In the article, Alan Brown mentions in one paragraph that the Userbank Creator "happily acceps .wav files" and in the next that people are put off by the way "Hammerhead some times puts a click on the beginning or end of a loop".

To avoid getting any pops or clicks in your loops, make sure you use .RAW files only in the Userbank Creator, not .wav. You can use Cool Edit 96 (you'll find a link to the program in the article's body text) to convert your wave samples to .raw.
