another technique

I often use hammerhead in my music. I have my own industrial\EBM project [industry of metropolis]. One technique I often use is creating a loop in HH (I often use .raw samples created in Stomper Ultra, which creates .raw especially for HH), then adjusting it to the BPM I want to use. I then save it as a .wav and do any effects I want to it in Cool Edit. From there I load up a great
synth emulator with built in sampler, sequencer, and some effects, called New Style AXS. I adjust the tempo of the track to that of the HH sample and import it into the sampler. I trigger it as neccessary. To make it interesting, I will sometimes adjust the pitch of the sample to half or double (triggering it twice on the double, unless I want a bit of silence in the beat afterward.) This
way you get interresting sounds out of the sample, and it remains in sync with the sequencer. This also saves a lot of hassle, avoiding other mixing programs or equipment (I've learned to do much on an almost non-existant budget...)
to sample some badly recorded .ra files of my music (to be fixed soon...) go to postnuclear.cjb.net
