We'd link to his site, but it doesn't work! Make of him what you will. Your band's website sucks. Yes, yours! You show no understanding of web design and you don't know how to present yourselves to an audience. God knows how you got even one gig! For starters, I want to talk about the front page of your site. Grabbing a 120Kb image of yourselves and sticking a couple of Java applets on your front page sent my PC into a grinding wait as I got to see how cool it was for the 1000th time that someone has worked out just how cool it is to have a tickertape message on their site. And your image sucks big time. The photograph is poorly composed and tells me nothing about the band, except that you're all butt ugly. No offence meant, but you did throw the first stone when I got stuck waiting for the image to download. If you're going to keep me waiting, make sure you satisfy me. Now onto the next reason why your website sucks. I really hate those little Java scripts that pop-up, saying 'Enter Your Name Here', before I'm allowed to view your page. I hate them even more when they're riddled with Javascript errors. You also heavily combined red and green colours across your site, which won't go down well with colorblind surfers. Disregarding this, you've got the same old exploding fireball animated gifs that have been around for ages. If you're going to swallow my bandwidth, make it good. You should also know that the link for 'Upcumming gigz' (kewl spelling, roode d00de) doesn't work. But that's hardly surprising, is it? So, anyway, I just read your biography and found out that that you can't spell properly. Spelling your band's name in three different ways is quite an effort. I'd let you off if you were a drummer, but you claim to be the band's main lyricist. I just want to point out at this stage of my rant that trying to write a witty and memorable description of yourselves is nothing short of embarrassing. You're musicians, not comedians. Drop the dreary, sad-assed 'yo momma' jokes and hire a writer. There are heaps of them around. Look for the guy wearing rags, drinking cheap wine and reviewing albums for some obscure zine. That's a publicist in the making. So let's get it all out of the way. Firstly, you made it difficult to download the front page. Secondly, you're ugly. Thirdly, the artwork is dull. There are also dead links on your site and the biography is nothing short of embarrassing. But, hey, I'm down. I'll check out your sound samples section. Wow! It's amazing that they're not all 50 megabyte wav files. But it's not surprising that the MIME setting isn't correct on your server. All I'm getting is a scrawl of ascii text on my screen. Only by clicking on the MP3 link and holding down my SHIFT key can I download your song. But you don't tell me how to. Luckily, I've been to more than my fair share of pages like this and know what to do. And now for your music. It's actually not that bad. I really go for that retro ska meets No Doubt meets the Bosstones sound. I've never heard anything like it before in my life. Seriously though, you're good. It's just a pity that most people will never know. I only stuck around to see how bad your site is. Most people would probably leave as soon as they realised you can't even copy a simple Java script into an HTML document. As the script says, enter your name here!
