Software Description

AKoff Guitar Assistant designed to assist in visual tuning a guitar with microphone or an electrical guitar connected to PC’s sound card. It analyzes in real time a stream of audio signals from WAVE input of your sound card and calculates the main frequency. This frequency is shown by a pointer on graphic guitar signature stamp (frets), comparing it to the proper frequency. Tuning a string now simply means centering the pointer on the appropriate graphic fret.

I'm just adding to the long list of those who've been hit by gassist.zip. DO NOT UNPACK THIS FILE OR YOU'LL HAVE MAJOR PROBLEMS.

Shame on those suckers for exposing musicians to their crap!!! It should be pulled immediately to mitagate the risk to others. Not everyone reads this board and the more it gets around, the more musicians get harmed since we are the folks that might use the file.

I downloaded gassist.zip and my virus program detected the virus TR.FlashKiller.B. Don't know anything about this virus, but thought you might like to know. Jerry

When you are using Antivir you find the TR/Flashkiller.B virus. I searched the net via google for the TR/Flashkiller.B and found articles that say this is a malfunction, a wrong detection of antivir. There where articles of other programs, where Antivir found that virus, but others like Norton did not.

Just try another Virus Killer. I think that this is no virus. Manu

Very Interesting attack with this one! I think you will discover this virus under these two other names: "Chernobyl" & W95.CIH.

Reading about them you will discover it is a good idea to kill it where you can! Bad Boy!!! I just discovered it while trying to install an old scanner & Norton poped up with a virus alert!! I was using the Original MFG's install CD!!! I stopped, and brought it home & scanned the CD with my Antivir to discover this new name...but, same problem... I'm breaking the CD & throwing it away! Good Luck!

I have scanned my hard-drive and have found TR/Flashkiller.B in
C:\Program Files\Real\RealPlayer\Setup
setup.exe

I have removed the virus. Please could you provide more information.

After I downloaded a hacher program- Hacker Spider. Than it destroyed one of my files- INSTALL.EXE !!!
P.E. I' m using the free antivirus program AntiVir.
