Software Description
Awextract (AWX) is a utility for extracting *.wav files from Yamaha AW4416 and AW2816 backup files. All audio tracks, regions and sample data can be extracted from an AW4416 backup file. All formats are supported, 16-bit at 48kHz, 16-bit at 44.1kHz, 24-bit at 48kHz and 24-bit at 44.1kHz.

Is it the program which extracts .Wave files from CFS files output of Yamaha AW4416 and AW2816 Recording Units ?
Noise
This program is a wonderful idea that fills a real void in the aw4416 world. I have however experieced substantial noises at edit point using windows XP and have therefore not been able to use this program to its full potential. I truly hope that one day this problem can be fixed as I transfer files between 4416 and pro-tools/nuendo etc every day. Help would be GREATLY appreciated.
