Synchronization Solution

All,

Hi, thanks for the great comments about the Mixer. The syncronization problems ARE fixable, they are most often caused by one of two things:

1) If you have a virus scanning program running (usually in the tray) they will often scan any newly written data and briefly halt the system while doing so. This momentary pause will slowdown the recorded track. Most multitrack programs suggest (at your own discretion) disabling the virus scanner while using the program. If you disable the virus scanner and are not connected to the internet, the chances of getting a virus are incredibly low.

2) You may have too many other programs open while using the Mixer. Realtime multitrack record/playback requires a good amount of processing speed and memory. Having other programs open while using the Mixer can result in slowdown of a track. We recommend closing as many non-crucial programs as possible. This includes programs in the tray. The tray is located in the lower right hand corner of your screen just to the left of the clock.

Practically every support email we've recieved concerning this issue is related to one of the two possibilities above.

Please let us know if we can be of more assistance, and thanks again for the great comments.

As always, happy recording!

Amatuer

I'm not sure, but as a beginning digital enthusiast I am not impressed by this. I grew up with analog tape. I don't get this. On the demo if you don't have MIXDOWN abilities, how do you PAN individual tracks? I may be missing something, but if you make a demo to impress to create a purchase you should give decent examples. How come when I record a second or third track what I am monitoring in the headphones is included on the track I am trying to record? That is just bouncing tracks with no control. Not even as good as George Martin did with The Beatles using 4 track tape.
I may be a dinosaur, but it seems that at least analog tape use was much better than this for simple control over your recorded tracks.

The free download is great!
Can I download the version to save song's?
And, how much is it?

MP3 Audio

I'm recording songs on a 4trak analog cassette
recorder, how do I transfer to digital CD.

playback synchronization

I tried to record two stereo tracks using the demo, but the second track,
on which I recorded a piano part while
listening to a drum and bass part on track one, was out of synchronization
when I played them back together. The
second track was advanced in time when
compared to the first track. Question:
is this a problem with the demo? I
don't see how one could record multiple
tracks if the sync is out. Any solution
other than adding a brief silence to
the second track to bring them back
time synchronization? Thanks for the
input.
