Software Description

Audacity is a free multi-track sound editor for MacOS, Windows, and Linux. It can record directly or import WAV, Ogg Vorbis, MP3, AIFF, and many other formats. Features include builtin effects, VST plugin loading, fast editing, and unlimited undo.

Warning: the following version of Audacity is beta quality! It contains dozens of new features, including a new toolbar, automatic resampling, and support for 32-bit samples, but it probably also contains new bugs.

Note: This version cannot read or write project files saved by Audacity 1.0 or older. It uses a new XML-based project file format.

Why not make one for.....

....... OS-8 ? My 250Mhz 603e PowerMac could really use a program like this. I use the windows version on a 233Mhz junk box with great success, and would like to have the same capability on my trusty old mac..

same here. after hours of work-- nothing.

anyone have any ideas?

something missing

Audacity is good but there are some bugs that crashes the Mac. I've download the v0.96 first and it always crashed my computer when I tryied to copy the beginnig of one music. This new version is better but it miss something like pitch adjust . When mixing 2 sound we cann't "correct" the BPM. It would be nice if we could...

Audacity

not very manageable, and it wouldn't go ten minutes without freezing my commputer.

OS X??

I have seen that this product is listed as a OS X based application. But after the install - it seems to always fire up in Classic. Bummer.
