: Audiomulch is the best. I haven't figured out the automation or how to loop yet. Can anyone offer some simple advice?
Hi - first make sure you've got the latest version, 0.9b7, cos it's got copy and paste of automation info which makes this wonderful program even better. I like it so much I registered it!!!!
You can't really loop in AM (as in return to a nominated position and start playing again from there, and then continue on to the next section) - bummer, but hey, it's still in beta.
You CAN get it to repeat a nominated number of bars over and over. press the loop button on the top line (looks like a little blue oval with an arrow head).
Now two little cursors will appear at the far left of the top of the automate panel. You can move these independently, and the section they enclose will repeat indefinitely.
So you could put the right hand cursor at bar 8 and the left hand cursor at bar 4. When you press play, AM will play the first four bars of your composition once, and will then play from bar 4 to bar 8 for ever.
Automation: first check the help file - under user topics, open user reference and you will see a topic labelled getting started with automation. This has pretty much the full info you will need.
quick reference: select a contraption (say the bass line synth, and link it to a sound out). Right click on a control (say resonance). A box will open - click automate.
A channel will appear in the automation section at the bottom of the screen (if it isn't visible press F7 to show the panel). Click on the line and move it up or down - do this a few times at different points along the line.
Press Play: voila, automated resonance sweeps!
You can do automated patch changes on contraptions and all sorts of amazing stuff. Press F3 for another way of getting to automate functions.
