Software Description
The Bass Tab Creator is a program designed to help create bass tablature. It was originally created to facilitate the reproduction of tab published in many music magazines and books. It takes as input a file consisting of note information, and builds the tab staffs.
Many string tricks are also supported (such as slides, bends, etc.), and other things like new time signatures, chords, triplets, and repeat markings.

Confused...
I recently downloaded a tab for Jaco Pastorius - Portrait Of Tracy, I don't know if you know it but that's irrelevent :) Along the top of the "strings" there's a list of letters that i don't understand, i can't work out what relevance they have to the peice and was wondering if it was something which occurs in tabs created by this program. the link to the tab is below, any help whatsoever would be great, emails preferrably since I'll probably lose this URL:). thanks

im pretty sure it means harmonics. Its funny cause I just looked at that tab not fifteen minutes ago

ok um i think the letters me the note value of what your playing...as in s=sixtinth q=quarter Q=dotted quarter...etc....thats what my stuff is like anyways. i hope that helps and possibly makes sense.

i have a subwoofer and my tweeters over power it so i cant
