Software Description

Bomb is a software system that produces visual music. It creates a video stream that is fluid, textured, rythmic, animated, and generally non-representational. It uses techniques of non-linear iterated systems, like video feedback, but implemented on an ordinary PC. It produces animated organic graphics in response to the keyboard, audio music, or on its own.

Bomb has about eighty color palettes built into it. Bomb never uses "palette cycling", instead every pixel is recomputed every frame (at about 30 frames per second). The palettes were algorithmically derived from photographs of natural scenery and famous 19th and 20th century paintings.

Bomb is a living visual feedback system, one that never repeats itself, that always does something new. One that makes you stare. You relax to the color & motion on the CRT. Shapes appear, then a face, then a word, then something too distorted and obscured to recognize. As you try to read and understand, you can imagine anything; you see what you expect in the noise.

Get paid for your MP3 downloads!!

I'm so sick of seeing bands and musicians having to give their music away!! No other trade is expected to do this. Our tools cost more than everyone else's!! A new Les Paul costs more than a new 1.5 gig desktop!! Yet WE are expected to just hand it all over. Do REEALLY think these Napster hearings are going to benefit the independant artists?! Not likely!! Well... After getting a "royalty check" for ninety-five cents, after having the top three downloads at a major MP3 site for three months, I'd finally had enough!! So I took up programming and hooked up with one of the world's top audio software programmers and we did something about it!!

We are proud to announce the release of PayWave. This incredible new software allows bands and musicians to demo their MP3 files for a limited number of plays. No one can pirate the tracks because the program disables their system's record function during playback. No on can play the track on another player, because the program converts the song into a non-audio file format that will only play on the embedded player until the song is paid for. To find out more and download a free demo, just go to www.tym2.com
You can also get a free multitracker just for checking it out!!
We'll be posting the software on the site later this week, but I wanted to start getting the message out. We can finally take control of our destiny!! This is an opportunity for ALL ONLINE MUSICIANS!!!!!!!! SPREAD THE WORD!!

Shame on you!!!!

I remember a day when musicians played QUALITY music. When the mainstream music reflected a society that wasn't obsessed with money. These musicians where obsessed with their music. And they had the guts and talent to go on tour and back it up city after city, show after show, tour after tour. In fact, the difference was they encouraged the free trade of there music, because that's what it is...MUSIC. Interesting concept, huh? Nobody, at least not in any significant way, is trying to steal music and profit (unless you take into consideration the agents, the record companies, and yes…MTV). Otherwise we just want to listen, and feel. And to me, and a good amount of others, that is what it’s all about. I think it’s an interesting phenomena that there are still bands today (actually many incredible bands), that encourage the trade of there music, still have all the money they need, make people feel great, attract followings wherever they go, and produce beauty that is actually worth the money they make. You know what the difference between these artists and their counterparts that whine about not making enough money. TALENT. Pure as the driven snow. Because they used to live poor. They used to work day jobs. But they didn’t make excuses But things aren't the way they used to be. Today’s musicians (and I use that word quite generously) play what they think will put nice cars in there driveways, what they hope MTV will help them peddle, what isn’t really music at all. It’s a sad day when the masses turn to a television channel to tell them what is good music. Musicians no longer play for the sake of playing. Rather, they compromise themselves for what they perceive to be worth. A VIRUS has infected today’s music and the people involved. A virus that was bound to infect music the same way it has everything else in our society. What is this virus? MONEY. And I say shame on those who have contributed to this problem and shame on those who promote it.

Re: Shame on you(shame on everyone)

I am sorry Isaiah. but some things must be told as the truth. some musicians dont get the chance as others do. some people have to work with what they have. It is not just money that drives people, but there are outside influnces in every day life. So remember, even if you are mad at those you do not think are talented. just remember you don't have to listen to them. just turn them off and find something more worth your time and money.

Bomb - fragile but fantastic

An AMAZING way to waste your time. Be careful when unzipping into a folder, it seems very fragile if you try to move it. The effects can be stunning. I can't say I've noticed it responding particularly strongly to music (try MidiArt for that), but it rapidly becomes hugely hypnotic. I'd like to know if you can replace some of the images in 'Suck' with your own - and if so, how? I've tried it, but without any apparent success. Recommended for those who like weirdly brilliant screen displays.
