converting .class to .mp3 ?!?!
I log on frequently to brazilian servers since they have great remixes of all commercial dj music but they save their mp3 songs with a .class extension which in win95/98 you could do a file rename to .mp3 to change the format. XP does not seem to be able to do the same thing, so i was wondering if there was a program or something to convert as i saw in a previous thread
pls hlp!

Rest assured; renaming a file will NOT change the file format.
I think your problem is that you have a DEFAULT installation of WinXP which hides the extensions of "known" files. .class is a known file extension for JAVA classes.
You need to setup WinXP to display extensions of "Known" file types. I have created a short tutorial which I hope will help.

I have also downloaded audio files with a .CLASS file extentsion. I can run these audio files by double clicking them - they auto start win media player and run ok. But if i try to import them to the media player library they are not recognised. I have tried your fix by unchecking 'hide known file extenstions/apply to all folders/apply/ok' but it doesn't seem to work? Please help.

Someone will need to send me an example of a .CLASS audio file. I have never seen them; so I'm not sure what it takes to convert them (if it's possible).
.cda's to .wav?????
I am trying to take one song off of a CD that I have and put it on my webpage. I have Windows Media Player, but that isn't helping.
I come here and find CDMaster32, so I go to download that program, and when I went to open it, it told me that I needed Real Player. So I went to download that, and now it won't open it.
All I want to do is put this one song off CD to my website. What do I do?

CDMaster32 does not need Real Player. CDMaster32 is a standalone application. The only requirement CDMaster32 has is that you have a CDROM and you have an ASPI layer installed (like all other rippers out there).
Please follow our tutorial at:
http://www.zittware.com/Products/CDMaster32/Tutorials/cd-ripper.html
for a step-by-step tutorial.
Did you rip to MP3 instead of WAV? Perhaps Real Player was/is launching because your double clicking/playing a ripped MP3 file and not the WAV file?
For some more information on putting music on WWW pages, see our post here:

CDMaster Demo
I own a Dell Inspirion 8100 with a DVD-CD/RW drive running Win2K. This combination seams to cause problems with some CD Rippers reading my music CDs. This does not appear to be the case with the CDMaster demo however the demo crashes on some of my CDs but not on others. The demo fails to find any of my CD covers even though WinAmp does. The demo seems to get stuck in a loop sometimes when converting the wave files to MP3 files. The scroll bars flash and the progress bars freeze. When I click on the description of the conversion in progress the flashing stops and the progress continues. The player doesn't appear to play the MP3 files it creates. If these problems were fixed I would consider purchasing this software.

I would recommend you check to ensure your ASPI layer is up-to-date and not corrupted.
<<The demo seems to get stuck in a loop sometimes when converting the wave files to MP3 files. The scroll bars flash and the progress bars freeze. >>
The best way to handle this is not to mess with the scroll bars while it's ripping.
We have identified a fix for this; and it's it present in the current registered beta that our beta testers have been testing. I expect V5.0 to be released in a few months as it's in final beta testing right now.
<<The player doesn't appear to play the MP3 files it creates. If these problems were fixed I would consider purchasing this software.>>
That is correct. CDMaster32 is not a player. While it does play AudioCDs; it is not intended to play MP3 files. There is no reason to build a MP3 player into CDMaster32 since there are so many better products out there (like Winamp) which are free.

Re: Mpga to Mp3 How?
: How can i convert Mpga to mp3 or wav ?
If I'm not mistaken, MPGA stands for Motion Pictures Group Audio... which in simple terms can be considered the long way of saying it's an MP3 file.
So, you shouldn't need to convert and mpga to an MP3 file. If mpga bothers you; you should be able to rename it to a .mp3 file and it should play fine in any MP3 player.
To convert the .mpga file to .wav, simply follow our online mp3 to wav tutorial at
http://www.zittware.com/Products/CDMaster32/mp3towav.html
If you decide not to rename the .mpga file as a .mp3 file, you can still select the .mpga file in CDMaster32's MP3 to WAV decoder. You can select the file by setting the Files of Type box in the selection screen to "All Files (*.*)".
Hope this helps,
John

Re: Mpga to Mp3 How?
:This conversion can be made if you have a CD recorder (CD burner) and windows media player 8. Put the music.mpga to play in windows media player 8. Click in Copy to... Put a CD-RW no CD recorder e click in copy music (bottom on top right). The music is transfered to CD in audio CD format. After this, use a CD ripper (I use NeoAudio) and copy the music in format mp3 (covert CD track to mpeg file in NeoAudio). The music in CD-RW can be erased.

Re: Mpga to Mp3 How?
: You are mistaken: mpga stands for mpeg audio
: : If I'm not mistaken, MPGA stands for Motion Pictures Group Audio
MPEG means Moving Picture Experts Group.
The long form file extension is MPEG, usually associated with video files.
MPG is one version of the file extension.
Adding the A simply designates that the MPEG file is a sound file following one of the MPEG audio standards. The most popular was the MP3, which has taken on a life of its own in common recognition.
Re: Mpga to Mp3 How?
are you retarded? that wasn't even the question... and he defined mpga not mpeg dumbass! that should have been clear enough to not have any follow ups but i guess you're all just reject idots!
