Help! No cdrom recording device was found on the scsi or ide bus

I am currently using WinME and CDRWIN 3.9c. CDwriter: Matshita UJDD420

I have tried the ASPI drivers from goldenhawk.com and the adaptec ASPI drivers v4.72. They both don't work.

Some of the posts suggested puttting the wnaspi32.dll file in the cdrwin folder, but didn't work.

Any suggestions?

Try putting the Nero-WNASPI32.DLL into the CDRWIN-Directory. That solves the proplem with the anoying ASPI-message. But - no writer (IDE-SCSI) will be found. Maybe you have a solution for this.

CDRWin v3.8+ versions FIX for any Microsoft OS 98+(incl. 2k&xp)

<img src="http://www.smeg.co.uk/gfx/poo/napalm.jpg">
In any case , usually only one method of correcting the 2k/me problems is to find a large chunk of fresh stanky dog sheyott in the yard, (if you can only find old dry dog sheyott, then spray on a little water, and microwave for like 30 seconds.) Take this chunk, and make a mold of the area where you put the cd into your drive.
Now un-eject the cd-bay back into your computer, it may get stuck from the excess poop from the cd-molding, so just shove it as hard as you can back into the drive.
Now, just try to burn something, anything to the dry poo-casted cd. This will undoubtebly flush out your drive from all psx/2000/me/mp3-related problems.

But seriousely, I cannot get cdrwin 3.9b to work on my 2000-install. It says that It cannot find a suitable recording device. (No poo is in my drive.) Please help me,

cdrwin+xp=no copy=dummy cd

1st it gives message: no aspi ,bla bla bla. i installed repeatedlly several aspi drivers, i meesed up the system so match, that nero stoped !!! working.
if you install its own drivers it looks to work BUT it burns dummy cd's. i burned 15 unitl i realized something is wrong.
the easiest solution is:
take the wnaspi32.dll from nero folder and put it in cdrwin folder. finitoooo !!!

I have the samsung DVD/CDR drive sn-308b. It shows up correctly as a reader, but not a recorder. Has anyone had any success with this drive and CDRWIN 4.0?

samsung rwcombo SM-332b

I just bought this samsung combo drive I've been using cdrwin for quite a while anyway i get this combo and when ever i burn a bin and cue file it burns it but theres nothing on the disk the burner wont read it but you can see that it burnt it on the disk anyway everything else works on it i cant figure this out if anyone has the same burner and you have figured this out throw me a bone

Re: samsung rwcombo SM-332b

I have the same exact problem with the sm-332b. Its quite annoying. Its not the burning software.. Must be the drive. I'm going to try upgrading firmware to see if that works. Dell support didnt help at all.

Re: samsung rwcombo SM-332b

Hi folks,

I'm on my second sm332b, the first one had some vibration problems so I rma'd it & just got the replacement back yesterday. Anyways, both of the dives wouldn't/won't burn bin/cues with nero or cdrwin, although isos & cloneCD images burn just fine. I haven't flashed to the newest firmware yet but the other drive was & it made no difference with the b/c's. I'm going to write to Samsung & let them know about this problem as it seems to be an issue that could be resolved with a firmware upgrade. In the meantime though, mounting the b/c's with cloneCD or daemon tools & backing them up to a cloneCD image or an iso seems to be the only way to burn them properly.

Cheers,
Rob

I cant get to the firmware on their darn site! Do you have the latest and the corresponding flash util?

Re: samsung rwcombo SM-332b

p.s.

The drive burns audio, data & isos just fine with nero.

Re: samsung rwcombo SM-332b

I also just got this drive and have been having exactly the same problems on my XP machine. I tried different ASPI drivers with no luck. The burner seems to work okay with Easy-CD Creater and Clone CD. It does not however work with cdrwin or nero (which seems to point to ASPI as the solution. Sure would like it if someone who has solved this problem would contact me. I have burnt over 25 CD's trying different variations. :(

Re: samsung rwcombo SM-332b

Same problem here with CDRWin 3.9b. Mine works fine with NERO v5.5.9.17. Thought I was buring too fast @ first.

Re: samsung rwcombo SM-332b

My SM-332-b, the second one I've had, just went south...again. What a piece of sh*t...I cannot believe I paid another $130 for this crap and it didn't even last 2 years before dying again! Serves me right, buy a combo and you don't even get the curteousy of a reach around. I'd never buy another one. I've never had any other hardware failures as bad as this one. Samsung, you may make good phones, but your CD/DVD/RW drives suck the large pickle..

signed,
want to kick some firmware developer's butt

Re: samsung rwcombo SM-332b

My SM-332 was working fine till recently. I am using Win XP & Nero 6. The problem I have got is that it doesn't recognize CDRW and doesn't write or format it (using InCD). The format shown is unknown. Burning CDR is normal and working fine. Please help!

Do you have a burner that is compatible with the version you are using? You might want to check the compatability page on the site. You probably just have to use a different version.
