GTP 4

I really like GTP 4. Works on WinXP and Win7. Way cool screen shots and it uses the Sonar sound engine and file systems. (The older Sonar Producer 4 engine & file systems)

By the way, I used Guitar Tracks Pro 2 on WinXP and haven't had any problems other than the console view not filling the whole screen.

G.T,V2, Dirt Chan and No Hum

I've been using Guitar Tracks V2 for about three years and couldn't record the distortion channel without a terrible Hum - However I moved my Amp Ten feet from the PC, and providing I play 6 feet from the amp and 6 feet from the PC, I can turn the distortion channel half on and get a really rocky sound without Hum !! much pleased

help

I recently got a new computer and the I can't install my guitar tracks v2 in my new computer, new computer is windows xp. How can i restore guitar tracks and my songs in xp. thank you.

Happened to me too...

Happened to me too... problem is, they limit the installs on the software... at least I think so... I got a new computer once, and WAS able to load it onto that one, but then on the next I think I could not. I even called cakewalk and they gave me a serial number or whatever number[s] it required to install, and THAT didn't work... luckily I got a NEW one at some point. For my files when my last computer was dying though, I just ended up finding another cakewalk version which, as I thought, was able to deal with all the old files- wish i still had GT2 though.

Eng-er-land !

Are we gonna win or what ?

ps...why are all the other posts about guitars ?

Doesn´t work in Windows XP!!!

Why this program do not install in Windows XP OS?

Re: Doesn´t work in Windows XP!!!

: Why this program do not install in Windows XP OS?
Yes I know! When I updated my pc from windows ME to XP suddenly my cakewalk GT 2 don't work! I emailed Cakewalk and they were good enough to respond....but there will be NO patches to run GT 2 on XP. Now I have lost all my tunes and have no way of using my backup disks exept to find somebody to let me use the pc they have. This really turned me off from what has been otherwise a really cool recording system.

Sorry man... I ran into the

Sorry man... I ran into the same problem... I was in Target and kept seeing a cakewalk version that was bundled with a guitar/USB cord... it was on sale and then slashed, so finally I got it. It worked with ALL my GT 2 trax! Whew! I had TEN years of stuff... but, this version seems only available now with a microphone bundle in Target [if it's the same one, AND it doesn't work quite like GT 2...] but all my songs are safe [P.S. I now create a wav export with every important tune.] Good luck.

Where can I get the full version in OZ

I live in Australia and want to know where I can get the full version that last more than 30 days.

I'm satisfied but I don't think I'll pay the $50

I'm pretty satisfied with the software. I have a SBLive so that might help some. I'm running my electric guitar through a V-amp and into my line-in on my sound card. It sound's clean. As far as the drum patterns go, I just run my keyboard into the line-in and it has 99 drum patterns with effects. It sound's great, but I don't think I'll pay the $50. Especially if there is a problem with converting mp3's to wavs, etc.

free loops HERE

Loops

Loops can't be applicated only to one track.... so sucky =/

Just Freezes

My comp gots all the specs and requirements for this program, I ran it on win 98 and it just froze. Anyone got any suggestions.

Playback

Im also having trouble recording more than one track. They play back at a different speed.Cakewalks web site cant help me,there techs cant help me,maybe someone out there can help me.So far this thing sucks and I just wasted $50.

Don't know if this will help you but-I was having a problem recording more than one track. Tech support said it was not a cakewalk problem-it was my sound card. So I started messing with my settings. I have a Crystal PnP sound card-That cakewalk does not support-I didn't know that at the time! Their advice was backwards-for me to record to a track and not have any other sound recorded I have to check the wave box of my sound mixer. Now I'm not having any problems! Cake walk is cool-But so is ntrack!!! God Bless

Mix down to MP3 Limited

After buying this software I am quite
unhappy that the mix down to mp3 option
is only a trial. On the box cover under
major features it says, "mix down to
stereo wav files to burn CDs or make
MP3s for the internet". But this mix
down to MP3 option only works a limited
number of times and then they want to
rip you another $29. I have read in
another report that they have even
messed with the wavs someway so that
you can't user another mp3 ripper to
convert a cakewalk wav to mp3. I haven't
tried yet.

Second, as Chuck mentioned the drum
loops that come with Guitar Tracks are
fairly limited and it is hard to know
what a loop will sound like looking
at the names they have used. As
reviewer, Chuck, said, they are really
trying to sell you another drum program
as an upgrade. If you are into jazz
or latin music don't count on using
the drum loops. Mostly rock stuff.

I have not had the problem with pops
that Chuck mentions, so possibly
that is a function of your computer
and hard drive. I like the mixer
other than that. I have only mixed
3 tracks of guitar together so far.
It sounds good to me.

I would rate this product very high
with the two exceptions I mentioned
above and response time for questions
sent in to Cakewalk on the internet.
They say they usually respond in 1 to
2 days. Don't count on it.

Re: Mix down to MP3 Limited

Hi,

I'm pretty pissed off about the mp3 encoder too. Do you know anywhere you could download it free?

not very happy

I'm not to impressed with this software. There are a lot of pops in the playbacks, not to mention that when I play back two different tracks that I recorded, they play in different times!! Also the drum machine thing isn't included with the trial version.

Re: not very happy

: that's because your system sucks ass :

bullshit. on a pc, it shouldn't require more than a pentium 90 to do this type of work.. the software is typical bloatware
