Software Description

CloneCD is the perfect tool to make backup copies of your music and data CDs, regardless of copy protection. CloneCD's award-winning user interface allows you to copy almost any CD in just a few mouse clicks.

Since the release of 5.0, CloneCD is not only able to copy CDs but also most DVD formats, such as DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD+R Dual Layer and DVD-RAM. The movies are copied 1:1 and therefore not modified (compressed). Note that to copy movie DVDs you also require AnyDVD.

CloneCD also works with other formats such as ISO and UDF files and copies CDs/DVDs with the new SafeDisc 3 Copy Protection System. CloneCD allows you to create perfect 1:1 copies of your valuable original compact discs. Should your copy-protected music CD not play in your car audio, the backup created by CloneCD will.

Product Highlights:

  • First copying software that uses RAW-Mode
  • Creates working 1:1 copies onto CD-Rs and CD-RWs
  • Amplifies weak sectors with selected CD writers

Re: Another CD-Clone Software

Gabriel,
You could always try NERO. It's one of the best all-round programs.
get it from:
ftp://ftp.ahead.de/nero50.exe
You could also check my Help-Site (link is below) under the 'SOFTWARE' section.

Burned CD only reads in CD-RW drive

I made an image file from the source CD, then burned the new CD. The disc will only read as an original in the CD-RW drive. The CD-ROM drive on the same PC sees it as a blank disc, and the CD-ROM on my other PC doesn't recognize the disc as being in the drive at all. Anyone have a clue why? I sure don't. :P
Thanks for any help.

Re: Burned CD only reads in CD-RW drive

Dazed,
Have you used a CD-RW (re-writeable disc) instead of a CDR (blank CD disc) ??
If a CD-RW disc is formatted to InCD (NERO) or DirectCD (Adaptec - or any other drag-and-drop CD-RW software), it WILL only be readable in the CD-Writer.
Let me know,
Pen.

Re: Burned CD only reads in CD-RW drive

I used a brand new Imation CD-R disc, and the latest version of CloneCD. My writer is an Acer CRW6206A and reader is a Pioneer DR-A04S. I tried using Nero after this didn't work, but Nero won't recognize my writer.

Thanks again for your help.

Re: Burned CD only reads in CD-RW drive

Dazed,
Use your CD-Writer as the source reader for a START.
Then, follow the settings for CloneCD 'TO THE LETTER' that are on my Help-Site (link below - click it and look for 'SETTINGS' then CloneCD).
Don't forget to check the 'subchannel' boxes and the 'fast error skip' boxes (settings are on my site).
Regards,
Pen.

Re: Burned CD only reads in CD-RW drive

Well, I guess my CDRW isn't compatible with CloneCD in Read mode. Time for a new writer if I want to make back-ups I suppose. :-p

Thanks again.

speedbusters

i copied a racing game called speedbusters (pc game) .... then i went to install the burnt copy and it wouldnt instal...it stopped at the colorado track...some help

Re: CD+G

: D,
: Aah, the age-old Karaoke question.

: The question isn't the software, but whether or not your CD Writer supports CD+G.

: Adaptec Easy CD Creator (which you have tried - and failed with already) is no good for this kind of thing. You should Un-install it PRONTO.
: Easy CD Creator isn't geared towards PSX or Karaoke CD's.
: These CD's use what's called 'Subchannel data' and ECDC cannot cope with that kind of stuff. (Guess how many 'coasters' I made finding that shit out..LOL)

: Anyway,
: I have succesfully ..er... 'backed-up' some CD+G discs using CloneCD.
: The settings are as follows:

: Read to an Image file with the original CD in your CD WRITER at readspeed 2x,
: "Read subchannel data from audio tracks" turned ON
: "Read subchannel data from data tracks" turned ON
: After reading the image file,
: Write from Image file at 2x in RAW SAO+SUB mode.

: This should help lots.

: Any more info you need, please feel free to use my (currently being updated) HELP site. The link is below for your convenience.

Pendragon can you help with this problem?

When i try to make a compilation audio cd using nero burn 5.0.3.8 i get this message posted.(Sorry, Nero cannot determine the SCSI/Atapi device letter)(Reasons) .reading cda from a recorder which is not supported .the source drive does not support cdda reading . the source drive reads CDDA too slowly .the Nero driver is not installed or not working properly
What im trying to do is take songs from 3 different disks and some mp3s and put it all on one cd but i get that message when trying to drag songs from my recorder drive. I can use my recorder drive to read a Full cd when burning a backup copy though so i don't understand why it don't work when i try making a compilation. Another thing is i tried using my cd-rom drive to drag and drop and it read all the cds and got to 100% complete and then burn process failed. You have any suggestions? thanks alot

Re: Pendragon can you help with this problem?

Russ,
The best thing to do is to convert all the CD tracks to Mp3 first, then use nero to write them all to CDR.

I use Cdex to 'rip' to Mp3 and then Mp3 CD-Maker to write them to CDR.

Download Cdex v1.30 beta from the link below:
http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/download/cdexbeta.zip
(direct download- copy the link into your address bar and hit enter)

Mp3 CD-Maker can be downloaded from my Help-Site in the 'Mp3 to CD' section (link at the bottom of the page) or just use Nero.

If you need a serial for Cdex, mail me.

Regards,
Pen.

NEED HELP PlEASE

I installed the CD burner into my computer
CRW8424E
I don't have any software for it, The drive works as a CD-rom drive but when I go to burn CD's on Adaptec CD creator it says that there is no CD-r burner installed on my computer... I have no way of getting the CD that came with the burner so what can I do so I can make the unit burn CD's?

Re: NEED HELP PlEASE

GO to Adaptec web site to download the lates pacth files for Easy Creator 4.02b,DirectCD 3.01b
for Windows 98. That is what I have in my PC.NOW I dont know what os system you have but Adaptec has all pacth files for the following Windows98,95,4.0,Windows2000,Windows ME.And yes even MAcs computers aswell. The web adderss is... http://www.roxio.com/

Re: NEED HELP PlEASE

Its appears to be a common problem amongst people that buy OEM burners and such.

First, try finding the manufacturer of the CD-Burner. Usually you can find it by right clicking on "My Computer" then "Device Manager" click the plu sign by the "CD-ROM Drives" icon and locate the maker of your burner.

After that is done, goto their website and dowload the latest drivers for that burner. Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4 is often the cause of it's bugginess. I suggest you use burning software called Nero. You can find it at any download site like http://www.download.com you can register the software the software for a small fee. But if the driver thing works out you shoudl be fine. Have a great day.

CD+G Blotches

Hello,

I am using trial version of CloneCD (ver2.8.4.3) and tried to make back-up of karaoke CD using Sony CRX140E on a Dell system with Pentium II.

The audio part came out OK, but the text area had *blotches* and little abnormal characters scattered accross the screen in random places. These blotches would be in a different location each time the text was updated for the next set of lines in the song.

Also, the text and backround colors were different on the back-up than they were on the original. The new colors were in contrast enough to be read, but not quite as much as on the original.

*** A Word Of Praise ***
At least CloneCD did come closer to copying 1-1 than NERO. Nero gave a blank text screen!!!

Any help or suggestions as to what I may do to *clean-up* the text area?
Please email, cause I may nevere find this board again...I am very new at all this computer stuff!

Thanks a Bunch...

Hi Jimmy, I use a program from MicroTechnologies Unlimited (MTU),
and I had better success than with other software.
But, I have noticed that if I use cheap blank CDs,
I do get some blotches on the last 2 or 3 tracks
when recording to the full capacity of a disc.
Hope this will help You, Ruben
