Software Description

The DXLIB program is currently a DX7/TX7 Librarian and Editor. It loads and stores MIDIEX (a.k.a. System Exclusive or CakeWalk) format files, transfers data between the computer and the DX7/TX7, and allows reorganization or "cataloging" of voices between up to 6 banks at a time. In addition, any voice within any bank may be edited.

Hello,

I have two C1's and both are having the same issues ... "hard disk failure". Is there anyone who knows whether these are now boat anchors, or are they salvageable?

Thanks!

C1 Computer

Hi JR,
I have a c1 that needs help. The monitor doesn't work any more and I'm also looking for another one to replace it or for parts. I also have both disk's that came with
the computer in 88. I can try to copy them if yoy still them. Bob

Yamaha C1

Hi Bob,

I hope you get this, it's been just over a year since your last post in this thread.
If you could send me images of the Yamaha C1 computer disks, or even physical copies, I will appreciate it greatly.

I have also learned quite a bit about these machines already and their similarities so certain other models of "laptops" of the same vintage.
So, in return - I can help you find some resources to get your C1 working without having to find another C1 with the proper working parts.

Once I get the disks or disk images, i will make sure to post links to the disk images to this thread for others to download, as they are nowhere to be found online.

Please email me when you can at:

lth.public(replacethiswithATsign)fastmail.net

Thank you!

- Landon

Patching the dx7 II FD using the floppy disk

Hello!

Can anybody help me please!?.

A friend of mine owns a Dx7 and he asked my help for patching it. We wan't to do it using the floppy disk included in the synth, we found lots a patches on the net with the .syx format, but the piano is not capable of loading it from disk. We made a save of the internal memory to disk and it created a .I01 file. We want information on how to convert those .syx files into .I01 format. So we need a software or technical information about the file structure so maybe we can write our own software.

Thanks in advance.

God bless you all!

Hey E,
I haven't done much with my 7 in years but plan to get back on it soon. With that, I'm facing a similar issue. Puting patches onto the DX7 or any other synth can be done manually. Keyboard Magazine has posted a number of sounds submitted by various keyboardists. Those settings for recreation of the patches where wriiten as line-item numeric value settings for filters, ocilators, waves and the rest. I've got some old mags around the basement somewhere that I've got to dig up, but in the mean time we should beable to find other users on the net who've archived some of the sounds we're looking for.

This is my first attempt to seek out patches via the net, but I'm sure that you should have good luck if you set your querries to locate DX patch settings.
