eac id3 meta tags

I am using "Exact Audio Copy v0.9p beta 11" to generate wav and mp3 files simultaneously. The software works for a few days and then the "edit id3 tags" option gets greyed out. I cannot access that option.
Is there any setting that needs to be changed so that I can use this facility?
