for entering notes into a MIDI file you need a MIDI sequencer

: : CAN I DOWNLOAD ANY MUSIC INTO EATHER ONE OF THESE MACHINES. IF SO HOW...... Its not worth it, I bought a PSR 630 just for the sake of its disk drive, it is pointless to download n e thing into one of those contraptions.... coz they're rubbish, they lack the good editing facilities. Even though the PSR-530 is XG compatable, it has no disk drive and only has 5 recordable tracks to edit, unlike the higher models, which include the full 16. Therefore, it is best just to get a better and more versatile model, there is not much point downloading songs into a machine which has no disk drive, coz its CRAP!

: Sorry but the last comment is wrong... Of course you can download midi and play songs to the Yamaha psr 530. You just hook up a midi cable from your pc that has midi software.
: So on the pc use a cable that converts from serial to midi. Go into the Yamaha PSR 530 Midi in port and it plays beautiful.
: I would not get a 630 just for the disk drive. Compose your music on the PC. Its much easier...
: The sounds by the way on the 530 are just as good as the ones on the 630 and its easier to use...

: I cant hear anything. I cant even turn up the volume. It just isnt working. Help!
