Software Description

This is a program for real-time sound effect processing. You can use it to add some distortion to your guitar, or some reverb to your voice.

Available effects are:

  • 2 kinds of distortion (one is Ibanez TubeScreamer 9 simulation)
  • sustain
  • various flavors of reverb, echo & delay
  • chorus/flanger
  • equalizer
  • noise reduction
  • wah-wah
  • phasor
  • tremolo
  • vibrato

Initially developed on Linux, the program currently can be easily ported on any UNIX system with GNU tools. There is also a Windows port.

The program uses GTK widgets (both GTK 1.2 and 2.x branches are supported),
and OSS as underlying sound layer.

The key features of the program are:

  • extremely low latency on linux systems; good latency on windows
  • wide number of effects
  • easy and intuitive to use
  • lightweight
  • available on linux and windows
  • great portability - can be ported to any UNIX
  • low dependencies
  • and of course, it's open-source and free
