Software Description

From the Guitar FX BOX web site:

Just plug your electric guitar to the sound card input, start Guitar FX BOX and enjoy - your guitar will scream and sing! This high quality sound processing program is acting just like a good collection of guitar effects pedals. You can use several of them at the same time, even all of them if you need so.

Guitar FX BOX does REALLY real-time DSP. Signal is sampled from sound card input, processed and then sent to the output with VERY LOW LATENCY - virtually undetectable. This is achieved using DirectSound or WDM streaming for fast access to the hardware (sound card) and fast DSP algorithms optimized for realtime processing.

Besides that, Guitar FX BOX features intuitive user interface, supports presets and hot keys for quick presets changing, MIDI/Game controllers pedals for wah-wah effect, configurable tuner, file input/output and more...

Effects included:

  • Overdrive/Distortion
  • Echo
  • Reverb
  • Chorus
  • Wah-wah (AutoWah and EnvelopeWah)
  • Pitch shifter
  • Tremolo
  • I/O Bass/Mid/Treble EQ controls
  • Compressor
  • Phaser
  • Guitar tuner

New in v3.0

  • Tube amp simulator,
  • Impulse response (convolution) based speaker cabinets,
  • Improved distortion/overdrive,
  • More wah types,
  • Arbitrary graphic equalizers,
  • Volume swell effect,
  • Redesigned reverb, much richer now,
  • 64-bit processing,
  • Improved EQ quality,
  • Minor bug fixes

delay-problem

When I push START I get an echo-effect even though I haven't previously selected any effect at all.
Anyone having this problem?

Re: delay-problem

Yes. I'm having the problem, too. Sometimes it works,
sometimes it doesn't.

I'm running a Dell Inspiron 5000e laptop w/192Meg RAM
and a Pentium III @ ??? MHz. DirectX 4.07.

According to the Help, I should upgrade to
DirectX 5. I'm gonna try that next.

Re: delay-problem

Your having this problem because the first sound you hear is the guitars original voice going straight from the input or mic directly to the output which is your speakers. I have the latest ver. of direct X and a 1.23Ghz processor and a little over 1Ghz of RAM. The upgrading of your computer will not help you. You have to get in the software for the sound card your using and mess with it until you get it right. And I do mean alot! I'm experiencing this problem too, It's my SB Live! sound card, which is really making my hair turn grey! Anything having to do with sound is a real pain in the butt on these cards! Atleast I think so.

Re: My demo works only 4 minutes, is this normal?

All the cracks do is make it so it never expitres. After 30 days it wont even start up, but the crack makes it so you have unlimited days on it. the 4 minutes is no biggie....

Input Error

I keep getting the error message "INPUT FILE FORMAT MUST BE 16 BIT 22050 HZ"when i attempt to play a prerecorded Wav file...any sugeestions?
