Imagine software so smart it lets YOU decide what effects it is going to create. Imagine a single interactive GUI that releases you from the restrictions of standard effects that everyone knows. If you can imagine that, then that's the first step the developers took in the design phase of Impulse Responder. It's a generic tool that leverages the whole potential of the impulse response technique with just a few mouse clicks.
Impulse response works like this: you have a sound wave and then you create a moving average of that wave with a set of coefficients (impulses). If they are all stacked adjacently in time, you get a filter. It can be an FIR style filter or an IIR style filter. If they are separated, you can get echoes, flangers, phasers, resonators and reverbs. It all depends on where they are placed and their relative values.
Impulse Responder uses a histogram that you can manipulate to design effects of your own. Effects that break the "rules" - or ones that don't. This is really unique software - there is nothing else like it. If you are not satisfied with being restricted to standard fare then this is the sort of thing you are looking for.
Impulse Responder is very cheap for what it is. Registering the beta version will give you automatic access to version 1, when it becomes available.
Additional Notes: This edition of the program is mostly much more stable - except for one remaining known bug.
I've chosen new categories because I'm not getting any traffic, and these may be better angled at my real market. But what do you think of these? My software doesn't fit exactly into any category.
