Software Description

LP Recorder has been designed specifically to record vinyl LPs to CD-standard WAV files. These can subsequently be converted to MP3 files or stored on CD. LP Recorder is an ideal companion program to LP Ripper. Special features of LP Recorder suited to recording vinyl to WAV files include: Automatically adjusts optimum recording levels to avoid distortion. Auto start and auto stop for easy operation. Visual stereo level meters can be used to check recording levels before AND during recording. Level meters are displayed even if not supported by your soundcard etc.

Trying to help my father....
Occasionally my father will have an issue where
LP recorder works, makes a file, but the file can not
be found on the hard drive when he attempts to copy
the converted file to cd.

When he goes backinto LP recorder, the file is "there" and
available for listening through LP recorder.....

Any ideas? This happens one out of 5 or 6 recordings.

LP Recorder and LP Ripper seem to be what I need. I would like to try it out on one or two albums before buying.

But, I can't locate any 4 minute album to test them with. No test, no buy ...

Your programme states that recordings are limited to four minutes. I want to record classical music, Symphonies, Concertos etc. How can you help me here?

On-Board Sound

my father got a copy of LP recorder 4.1 from a PC User magazine cover CD and wants to use it to rip his LPs. i see the system rquirements mention a "Windows Mixer-compatible Soundcard" but he only has Sound on-board with a line-in plug.
will it work for him or does he have to buy a soundcard? i have suggested he get a decent soundcard regardless, but he'd like to try what he has first before he spends any money.

Just go ahead and use the onboard 'soundcard'
and see if your father is happy with the results.

'soundcard' is used rather generically these days
to mean an actual card or a chipset.

You can use LP Ripper to split a WAV file into separate tracks. Either search for it here or go to our website at:

cassette to cd

I have the Creative SB Live Ver.1.3...including Wave Studio.

I can get the music from the cassette onto my hard drive; and burn onto cd. But if I just let the entire casette record instead of recording each song and beginning a new .wav for the next song, how can I break it into separate tracks for the cd?

This is especially a problem when the cassette is a concert and one track (song) doesn't end before the next begins. I know there is a 'fade-in' and 'fade-out' option with the Wave Studio. But I can't seem to figure out from the help file how to accomplish my task efficiently.

Hi,

I have another program i have used, but would like to try this. Since my stereo has no line out, i used the earphone jack ( which has a preamp buit into it as all do).......this to my line input. Semms to work fine.

LP window Disappearance

My LP recorder window disappears after 15 seconds or so leaving me seeing my desktop. After set-up,I click the red record buton it turns yellow, then red again and before I can start the phono player the window disappears on me.
I actually started recording ONCE but before the tune finished the window disappeared on me.. Any reasons whu this should happen?

Am i right in thinking that this will record in mono as a 2xphono to 3.5mm jack plug is used from amp to line input on pc? or is there some way of recording in stereo?
